Disney is getting set to launch their much anticipated streaming service, dubbed Disney+, later this year. CEO Bob Iger has revealed that the entire Disney library will be on it, which has fans in a frenzy. They’re probably happy that everything from the House of Mouse will be available, but it effectively kills off the long held tradition of opening the vault to release a film not seen in years.
Anything you can think of, with some notable and never-to-be-released-again exceptions being left out, will be at our fingertips. “Star Wars,” Pixar, and Marvel movies will be in the mix too on the service. The vault may be going away, but we’ll have access (for a fee) to any Disney classic. Of course other services won’t.
