A runner from the Isle of Man has been hitting the pavement for nearly three weeks to raise money for coronavirus relief. Christian Varley has completed 19 marathons in 19 days, finishing his final 26.2-miles in four hours and 39 minutes.
His efforts have raised $102-thousand for the Manx Solidarity Fund, a charity established to help those in need during the pandemic on the Isle of Man. Varley says the support he got from the community was “just unbelievable.” People were there cheering him on as he finished the last marathon, celebrating with him and beeping their horns.
He admits, “I’ve never been so emotional to be honest.”
