We doubt this will come as much of a surprise to folks, but Chicago has officially canceled this year’s Lollapalooza festival in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
“We wish we could bring Lollapalooza to Grant Park again this year, but we understand why things can’t move forward as planned,” festival organizers said in a statement. “The health and safety of our fans, artists, partners, staff and community is always our highest priority.”
The festival was supposed to take place July 30th to August 3rd. Organizers never did get a chance to announce the lineup.
Instead organizers are hoping to offer a virtual event, featuring “performances from around the city and beyond.” A full schedule is expected next month.
