A contestant on “Wheel of Fortune” won big last week and he’s paying it forward to help others. Scott Kolbrenner did well on the show, racking up about $45-thousand in cash and prizes during the regular rounds of play. He went on to correctly guess the bonus puzzle and won the $100-thousand Grand Prize.
The Encino, California, man has pledged to give his winnings to two charities. He’s donating $72,500 each to Uplift Family Services at Hollygrove, a behavioral health treatment provider, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
“While I hoped I would do okay on the show, I never thought that anything like this could happen,” Kolbrenner says of his win. “I got lucky that day and knew right away that I wanted to share my good fortune. The fun and memories from the day will stay with me forever, but the urgent need in our community cannot wait.”
