General Mills Responds To Claim Of Shrimp Tails In Box Of Cereal

A writer and comedian, Jensen Karp, has claimed on Twitter that he found two shrimp tails in a box of General Mills’ Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. He even sent a photo to the company’s Twitter account of the supposed “shrimp tails in my cereal.”

Initially, the company said that they would report the incident to their “quality team” and send him a new box of cereal, but later they denied that he actually found shrimp tails saying “after further investigation with our team that closely examined the image, it appears to be an accumulation of cinnamon sugar that sometimes can occur when ingredients aren’t thoroughly blended.”

This did not go over well with Karp and he responded with “Okay, well after further investigation with my eyes, these are cinnamon coated SHRIMP TAILS you weirdos.” His full tweet can be found HERE. The back and forth between the company and Karp continued and Mike Siemienas, a spokesperson for General Mills said “While we are still investigating this matter, we can say with confidence that this did not occur at our facility.” As for Karp? He’s having some investigations of his own.
