A pair of hikers on a mountain in Switzerland were met by an unexpected site – a tiny cat. Cyril and Erik Rohrer were climbing Mount Britsen when they heard the lost feline’s meows and they were even more surprised when she started following them.
They say the kitten stayed with them as they trekked to the top of the 10-thousand foot summit. “She started to shiver, and her paws began to bleed from the hard snow,” Cyril explains. “Sometimes we picked her up and carried her when she was too exhausted to walk uphill anymore. We were definitely confused.”
The hikers kept an eye on their small companion, eventually handing her over to another group of hikers. Those good Samaritans took the cat back down the mountain and reunited her with her owners in the valley below. It turns out, the cat has been lost for four days and had already followed another group of hikers to the top, so she climbed a 10-thousand foot mountain twice in her wild four-day adventure before going back home.
