Pete Wentz Was Almost In “X-Men”

Pete Wentz was almost on the big screen as a super mutant. The Fall Out Boy bassist has revealed that he lost out on a part in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

Over a decade ago, Wentz heard about the acting opportunity while filming a bit for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” British actor Dominic Monaghan – known for his role as the hobbit Merry Brandybuck in “The Lord Of The Rings” trilogy – was also involved in the “F**king Ben Affleck” musical sketch, and both of them ended up being offered the small part in “X-Men.”

Wentz said he’d “think about it” while he filmed the Kimmel sketch… but by the time he got home and decided he was down, they’d already cast the role. Somehow, Monaghan beat Wentz to it, and the part of mutant Chris Bradley ended up going to him.
