Britney Spears Scheduled To Speak In Court In June

Britney Spears is apparently ready to let everyone know how she feels about what’s going on with her conservaorship. Her lawyer revealed yesterday that she wants to speak for herself in court.

“The conservatee has requested that I seek from the court a status hearing at which she can address the court directly,” her lawyer Sam Ingham III told Judge Brenda Penny. He noted that the subject of her comments would deal with the “status of the conservatorship,” and asked that her appearance be “expedited.”

The judge then set this status hearing for June 23rd at 1:30 p.m. PT at Stanley Mosk Courthouse. It will be Britney’s first time in speaking for herself in court for several years.

  • Meanwhile, Brit’s parents seem to be at war over her conservatorship. As we told you, Britney’s father Jamie recently asked the court to require Britney’s estate to pay $2 million in his legal fees, and her mother Lynne fought back, objecting in court to Jamie’s expenses. Well now Jamie has responded.
  • According to The Blast, in a new court filing Jamie insists Lynn has “not been involved in their daughter’s conservatorship until very recently, so she doesn’t know anything about the legitimacy of his fees. He also suggests in the docs that Lynne “is the one who exploited her daughter’s pain and trauma for personal profit by publishing a book” about Britney, referring to her 2008 release, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.”
  • Jamie also argues Lynne’s objection to his expenses is “causing undue delay and expense in the administration of the Conservatorship, and ironically, stirring up more unnecessary media attention.”
    • And…Britney shared a bizarre video on Instagram of her trying to create her favorite sandwich from Schlotzsky’s in New York City. It’s been over a decade since Brit had the sandwich, which she dubs the “meanest sandwich known to mankind,: and she tries to recreate it with goat cheese, almonds (although they look like pecans), shredded chicken, turkey, avocado, lettuce and pears. Check out the video to the right.
