Company Installs $12K A/C Unit For Free For Sick Teen

A family in Portland, Oregon, is cool and happy once again, thanks to an act of kindness after their home’s air conditioner broke. Viktoria Leen, 13 is terminally ill and her health has recently taken a turn for the worse. She’s now in hospice care at home and her family is doing everything to make her final days as comfortable as possible, but when their A/C stopped working, their difficult situation became even harder.

Lea Leen says the machines her daughter needs produce a lot of heat and need to be kept cool, so they were desperate to get it fixed as temperatures outside have been the highest of the year. They called MP Heating & Air Conditioning and owner Sam Murzea took care of them. Since their A/C unit was 25 years old, it was beyond repair, but he cleared his schedule after hearing about Viktoria’s situation and got his team to replace the unit the next day.

The cost for the equipment and installation was around $12-thousand, but when Murzea gave Lea the invoice, he didn’t charge them a penny. He says even his employees offered to do the work for free that day. “I think something that’s bigger than all of us put us there,” he explains, “and there’s a reason we got that phone call and were able to be in the position that were to help them.”
