Free Lottery Ticket From COVID Vax Wins Man $1M

A Texas man got his COVID vaccination while in Arkansas and it really paid off. Gary Smith tells Arkansas Scholarship Lottery officials that he was visiting family in the state when they decided to get their second doses of the vaccine at the health department.

He was informed that proof of his vaccination could be used to get a $20 scratch-off lottery ticket for free or to get a $20 gift certificate for the Arkansas Game and Fish commission as part of the state’s incentive program. Smith chose the lottery ticket and it was a smart choice. When he scratched it off, he was shocked to see he’d won the top prize – a million bucks!

“I know they’re lying,” Smith recalls thinking when he saw the prize. “I couldn’t believe it.” He says he plans to use the winnings to pay bills and help family members, as well as pay for the wedding and honeymoon of his dreams with his future wife.
