Customer Leaves $10K Tip At Florida Restaurant

Workers at a restaurant in Gainesville, Florida, were treated to a nice surprise by a generous diner. Shawn Shepherd, owner of Wahoo Seafood, says the anonymous customer asked to see the 10 staff members who were working during his visit.

The man told the staff that he “appreciated that they showed up and what they’ve been through,” Shepherd recalls. And then he told them that he wanted to give each of them a $1,000 tip! It was the biggest tip the restaurant has received in the 35 years Shepherd has been the owner.

“The last year and a half hasn’t been easy on this industry,” Shepherd shares in a Facebook post. “We’re hurting and we’re exhausted, but this incredible act of kindness has restored our faith in humanity.”
