Canadian Man Wins $20-Million From Forgotten Lotto Ticket

A lucky man in Canada is counting his blessings all the way to the bank, thanks to a huge lottery win. Jerry Knott bought a Lotto Max ticket for the drawing on August 24th, then he stuck it in his wallet and forgot about it. It wasn’t until earlier this month that the Manitoba resident spotted the ticket in there and discovered it was a winner.

Knott says he took the ticket in to a store and when the cashier scanned it, he saw a two and a bunch of zeroes, so he thought he’d won $20-thousand. It wasn’t until she scanned it again that he “saw there were a few more zeroes” than he originally thought. And that’s when he realized he was $20-million richer!

He’s already making plans for how to spend his new fortune, first up is sharing the money with his wife and kids. Knott also says he plans to use some of the money to build cottages with his brother on Big Stone Lake and turn them into a treatment center or a wilderness experience.
