How to Make Hand-Made Masks:

SLHS has pre-approved mask patterns and materials for those who wish to make masks for our healthcare providers. We will keep these on hand, in the event of an emergency.

Ties are preferred over elastic ear loops
Metal nose piece
Filter – At this time, the recommendation is to leave a pocket for a filter

Important: To ensure the health and safety of our employees, only healthy individuals with no one in their household experiencing symptoms should consider donating masks. Masks donated to SLHS will be laundered prior to use.

Designated drop-off bins have been established on the main campus of our three hospitals:
– Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Leroy Outpatient Center, 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam. Outside the Center’s main entrance, under the canopy.
– Gouverneur Hospital, 77 West Barney Street, Gouverneur. Inside the automatic double doors of the Hospital’s main entrance.
– Massena Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive, Massena. Inside the automatic double doors of the Hospital’s main entrance.

Please be sure to include your name and contact information with any donation. We truly appreciate your support and want to be able to give you a proper “thank you.”
